SolWest Renewable Energy Conference – Followup #1

Green Christians?! Surprised

That is one of many comments we received this weekend at the SolWest Renewable Energy Conference. Everyone was very surprised to see a Christian group – let alone a church – at a renewable energy conference. It was fun to challenge people's sterotype of Believers! Laughing

I am going to try to type up a longer report tonight – but for now, I'm going to leave you with an email from a lady in John Day whom we worked with before the conference. She really was a big catalyst in getting us to attend and having a booth. Her email is a huge encouragement and blessing. Enjoy. [@more@]

Emily,

It was wonderful to meet you and Josh and the other volunteers. This is just a quick note to say "thank you" for coming and to Pastor Tri for coming in May to help kick this off.

You all truly came to where the people are— to spread God's Good News. That was a good lesson for me and one that I look forward to discussing with several friends in the faith community. It seemed to me like Josh and Britt had some pretty powerful visits Sunday noon and afternoon.

I believe that your visits with people will re-awaken faith that they had forgotten they had and we in the John Day Valley will be amazed one day by the giant snowball that hits us one day—the giant snowball that started out as a few ice crystals clumped together by someone who was touched by your conversations. And that the ripples will keep expanding. I'm still looking at the conference and praying about how to be an effective messenger.

Also I had a nice conversation with someone from Bend during clean-up that may lead to something. Thank you again for coming. Look for the ripples and listen for God's soft still voice.

Blessings.
